Published sales figures for the Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X indicate that Microsoft's console is almost half the size of its main competitor, the Playstation 5. According to Ampere Analysis, the total sales of the new Xbox reached 6.7 million units, while the figure for Playstation amounted to 12.8 million units. Such a gap can hardly be considered a good result, given that the Xbox is now the most profitable (in terms of price) solution on the market.
However, video game retailers claim that Xbox accounts for the largest share of US sales. Perhaps this is due to the fact that the Xbox brand is more popular in the US, when Sony is successfully sold in the European markets. Unfortunately, the geography of these numbers is not mentioned.
We have noted more than once that the Xbox Series S is the best value proposition on the video game market under current conditions. The user gets a modern and promising device capable of playing games at 1080p and higher at a frequency of 60 cd/sec .. The reports also touched upon the success of the Nintendo Switch, which we wrote about earlier. And there has been a strong demand for PS4, which has fallen short of analysts' expectations, but still occupies an important niche in the market.
